Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT)Application Deadline: 6 December 2024 Department: Project Development Employment Type: Full Time Location: Maine Reporting To: Land Surveyor Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 / hour Description The Land Surveyor In Training will work with the project development and construction teams to prepare and supervise land surveys in order to develop solar PV projects. What you'll do:
- Prepare, land surveys to meet client regulatory and financier requirements.
- Prepare surveys, exhibits, ALTA surveys and Legal Descriptions.
- Perform quality control reviews of survey deliverables.
- Mentor and develop survey specific skillsets within the organization.
- Read and interpret legal descriptions and title work.
- Knowledge of field and office survey operations and basic understanding of Total Station.
- Work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines as well as balance multiple projects.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Maintain and demonstrate exceptional communication and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying from an accredited college / university
- Land Surveyor In Training registration in the State of Maine or another state
- Strong knowledge of colonial state boundary surveying terminology and procedures, modern survey methods and survey devices.
- Strong knowledge of legal aspects of boundary surveying, including laws, statues, and ordinances.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2024, Trimble Access
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to lead and/or participate in discussions during client consultations and project team meetings.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and stand or walk for long periods.
- Ability to carry up to 60 pounds of surveying equipment over rough and steep terrain.
- Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Must be detail-oriented and efficient in problem solving.
- Must have interest in renewable energy development and design.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
