Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the State of Maine.Position Summary:Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness (WPHW) is seeking an energetic and passionate Land Wellness Manager to help support the Community and Land Wellness Division. This position will focus on creating and implementing environmental programs, providing guidance on resource management and sustainable development practices. This position will work to create and maintain relationships with tribal and community partners to encompass cultural practices and ways to improve environmental health issues. This position is full time, 40 hours per week and reports to the Director of Community and Land Wellness Division.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver culturally appropriate soil health educational resources to tribal community members.
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with community-based organizations to provide the development of commercial tobacco prevention programming and environmental health initiatives.
- Oversee Tobacco educators' cultural activity curriculum development.
- Responsible for planning and implementing environmental health initiatives, events and activities to encourage environmentally healthy lifestyles and preservation.
- Provide supervision and oversight to Land Wellness Staff.
- Support social media promotion of programming.
- Attending required training and meetings, both in person and online, in accordance with grant funding.
- Complete reporting and evaluation as related to deliverables.
- Seek additional funding opportunities to support future initiatives for the Land Wellness team.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends to meet community needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- University degree or college diploma in relevant field or relevant field experience.
- Experience working in Tribal Communities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A strong work ethic and enthusiasm.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
- Valid Maine driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Candidate must be willing to travel.
- Must pass criminal background check.
