POSITION TITLE: Lands Compliance Manager - Public Works (Project Position through 2027)DIVISION: Lands Management, Clark County Public WorksJOB SUMMARY:The Lands Management division of Clark County Public Works is seeking an experienced professional to manage ongoing cleanup coordination and plan for the future use of Camp Bonneville.ABOUT CAMP BONNEVILLE:Camp Bonneville is a former military reservation site in eastern Clark County, covering approximately 3,800 acres of mostly undeveloped forest. The Department of Defense operated here from 1910 to 1995. Site investigation and cleanup efforts have been underway since the late 1990s to prepare portions of the site for future use.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Engage with internal and external stakeholders.Ensure compliance with close-out requirements.Assist Clark County in transitioning from cleanup to planning and reuse of the site.Collaborate with the Washington State Department of Ecology and the Department of Defense to finalize cleanup, establish long-term operations, maintenance plans, and institutional controls for the future management of the site.PROJECT GOAL:Complete these tasks to enable the implementation of a master plan for the site as outlined in the Camp Bonneville Reuse Plan (September 1998, revised in 2003 and 2005).IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with the Washington State Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA).Proven ability in managing the compliance of environmental cleanup activities.DURATION:This is a three-year limited duration project position from the date of hire.COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION:The department values our community's diversity and actively promotes equity and inclusion within the organization and the public.
