We are currently looking for a Full Time Landscape Equipment Specialist to join our Cultural Center Community Gardens Landscape team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.Summary:Responsibilities:* Maintain an inventory of assigned vehicles, trailers, and equipment* Maintains schedule to establish time and mileage as best possible* Constructs maintenance schedules that meet manufacturer recommendations while minimizing downtime and the impact on the day-to-day operations of the Horticulture department* Performs routine and/or preventative maintenance on tools and equipment* Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts, and repairs mechanical defects/failures on assigned equipment and or vehicle types* Report necessary repairs and recommendations to Horticulture Management for approval* Perform any approved repairs deemed within the scope of the tools, experience and resources available to the Horticulture department and/or coordinate with outside vendors to ensure necessary repairs that are deemed beyond the department's capabilities are accomplished in a timely manner* Assist the Site Manager or MOD with the determination of replacement parts and/or maintenance supplies, reporting needs to the MOD who will forward for purchase approval* Maintain shop area, tools, and equipment* Operates tools and/or equipment following all safety and operation guidelines in the performance of any assigned tasks* Coordinate scheduled vehicle services with Vehicle Maintenance* Properly maintain, repair and store landscaping tools and equipment per approved procedures* Utilizes proper personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately* Shovel snow/ice from walks, driveways, parking lots and spread salt in needed areas* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Ability to work independently* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Must be able to operate equipment (e.g. forklift, etc.)* Knowledge and experience in all areas of vehicle maintenance, repair and safety* Knowledge of public contact methods and procedures* Works well within a team* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Operate light and heavy equipment* Knowledge, skill and ability to operate hand implementsExperience:Essential:* 1 year directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentNonessential:* Technical SchoolEssential:* Preferred Technical School: Small engine repairNonessential:* Preferred Technical School: Small engine repairCredentials:Essential:* Standard Driver's License* Pass general background checkWorking Conditions:Essential:* Constantly lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Outside, all weather conditions* Rugged/rural * Pass pre-employment drug test
