Watershed Progressive is hiring a Landscape Foreperson to join our team! As a Landscape Foreperson at Watershed Progressive, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission of “ connecting communities with their watersheds through integrated strategies for a healthy, resilient future ” through your skills, expertise, and contribution to a dynamic team. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks related to landscape construction and planning. Your work will contribute to the development and implementation of projects that engage communities in building local climate resilience. About the Position GENERAL JOB DUTIES: Onsite construction lead of complex or commercial landscape construction projects Develop construction work plans in coordination with Project Managers to construct projects in the most efficient and logical order of operations Generate and update the construction calendar and update work plans Provide weekly written status reports to the Hub Director and PMs including updated budgets for construction tasks Track construction deliverables Construction site safety lead Client communication Provide updated sketches or markups to drafters for as-built generation ·Generate and finalize cost estimates for project proposals and bidding purposes Generate and finalize material lists for LID or water conservation projects Provide oversight, training, and quality control on complex or commercial installation projects Construction Advisor consulting with the design team on best practices and feasibility Feasibility consultant for Project Managers of complex or commercial installation projects Construction risk assessment and troubleshooting lead Coordination with other contractors on active construction sites to optimize efficiency and avoid conflict Perform site ecological assessment and evaluation, including planning schematics for Water Resource Planning/Drafters/Engineers and adaptive field decisions Data collection and file-sharing management QC construction documents for code compliance and constructability Work directly with the Installation Hub Director and Field Operations Manager to plan and install field projects EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: C27 Landscape Contractor License or at least 10 years of experience leading landscape installations, 10 years of adaptive field management, quality control supervisory experience Extensive experience in construction cost estimates, site grading, and drainage plans, utility design including hydrology/hydraulics, and stormwater treatment design Experience managing installations for commercial or public LID/Green infrastructure projects Ability to generate or quality assure onsite LID water resource and/or watershed-based calculations Experience with water resource monitoring data collection and metadata organization REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES A creative, integrative, and constructive positive approach to work ethic, time management, team building and client output Detail-oriented, highly self-organized, and able to meet deadlines consistently Must be a team player and willing to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic, creative environment Good listener, able to take and follow directions, as well as coordinate identified subtasks to others Must be able to travel for short and extended periods through California Must be a self-starter and work independently with conflicting deadlines Must have some general knowledge and/or certification in water conservation, greywater, rainwater, watershed hydrology, and stormwater systems Able to generate clear, professional planning schematics for water assessment planning Able to generate schematic details not included on existing drawings to accurately reflect as-installed field conditions based on direction provided by lead drafters, designers, and engineers Familiarity and practical experience with practices and trends in water supply, development, and management of water in California. Understanding of regulatory framework for green infrastructure water, wastewater, groundwater, stormwater, or recycled water issues Excellent, professional, oral, and/or written communication skills Strong understanding of rainwater, greywater, irrigation systems and stormwater design schematics, typical materials, pump systems, and code compliance Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite Any of these additional skills and experience are a plus: Rainwater harvesting system design and construction Greywater system design and construction Lawn/Turf Removal Lawn/Turf Irrigation Systems Extensive knowledge of CA native plants The following advanced certifications (or equivalent): ARCSA, QWEL, PDC, Water-Pro, ALDA, QSD, Aquascape, Grey Water Action Experience living in or working with marginalized communities Bilingual Who Should Apply: We recognize that environmental challenges, social and economic inequity, and environmental racism are intrinsically linked, and therefore, marginalized communities must be centered in the work we do.
