SummaryThe Landscape Specialist position assists with the management of day-to-day field operations of all District-owned property including common areas and amenities, with a concentration on landscape & irrigation maintenance. The Landscape Specialist will be responsible for managing and coordinating the landscape & irrigation maintenance contracts for the districts. The Landscape Specialist will also prepare and develop landscape & irrigation maintenance bid proposals and oversee the bidding process. Lastly, the Landscape Specialist is responsible for performing site visits and providing written reports to the District Manager and maintenance vendor as requested.Essential Functions
- Conduct site visits for all District-owned properties as requested by the District Manager.
- Assist District Manager in overseeing the daily field operations of landscape & irrigation maintenance contracts.
- Provide written Field Services Report to the District Manager.
- Attend Board of Supervisor and Vendor meetings, if requested, by the District Manager on an as needed basis. Some meetings occur in the evenings and will require some public speaking.
- Develop bid specs, advertise maintenance/construction projects, conduct pre-bid meetings, and bid openings, and advise respective Boards on bid selection process.
- Review financial and operating information, as appropriate.
- Coordinate and develop periodic financial and/or operating analyses to assist with annual budgeting upon request by the District Manager.
- Perform and assist with miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education
- Required - High School diploma or GED.
- Preferred - Associate degree.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in the landscape/irrigation field.
- Certifications in Turf Management, Agronomics, Landscaping, Horticulture, or Arboriculture are preferred.
- Knowledge of plants and landscape maintenance.
- Knowledge of landscaping or horticulture industry is preferred.
- Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Supervisory Responsibilities N/AWork Environment Variable combination of outdoor environments for inspections and services. Additionally, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, personal recorders, and cameras.
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Possess personal vehicle insurance with a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 liability coverage.
Physical DemandsMust be able to drive to various markets, required board meetings and designated communities. Travel is primarily local, although some overnight travel and weekend work may be expected. Ability to endure outdoor weather conditions and may need to walk/stand for periods of time.
