Position Overview Phoenix Laser Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Laser Cladding Operator with expertise in Kuka/Riess robots and strong robotic programming capabilities. This individual will be responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining our laser cladding systems to deliver high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with robotic systems, particularly in laser cladding applications, and a strong understanding of the laser cladding process to optimize efficiency and output. Key Responsibilities
- Laser Cladding Operations:
- Set up and operate laser cladding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and quality.
- Adjust parameters such as power levels, focal lengths, and feed rates for different materials and applications.
- Perform pre-cladding preparation, including surface cleaning, part positioning, and fixture setup.
- Robotics Programming:
- Program, calibrate, and operate Kuka/Riess robots to automate the cladding process.
- Optimize robotic paths and sequences for efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems to resolve any programming or operational issues.
- Quality Control:
- Perform inspections of laser-clad parts to verify adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Document results, deviations, and corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of cladding parameters, robotic programs, and job setups.
- Maintenance & Safety:
- Conduct routine maintenance on laser equipment and robotic systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts for process optimization and productivity.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in laser cladding operations, with hands-on experience in Kuka/Riess robotics programming.
- Strong understanding of robotic automation and laser technology, specifically related to laser cladding processes.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in robotic programming software and PLC systems.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for robotic path generation.
- Solid knowledge of laser cladding techniques, materials science, and metallurgy.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certification in robotics programming or laser technology is a plus.
- Forklift and overhead crane operation certification.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
