About your new role:

As the Laser Development Scientist you will be responsible for a wide range of responsibilities related to existing TOPTICA and future product lines developed and manufactured by the United States production team. Our Laser Development Scientist will be working as a member of our TOPTICA Photonics, Inc. Americas design team.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the design and specification of products from research and development stage to engineering plan stage to product manufacturability
  • Ensuring that the product conforms to TOPTICA's high standard of performance, quality, and reliability
  • Building and characterizing early prototypes
  • Specifying and outfitting dedicated manufacturing space with all necessary workstations, fixturing, and instrumentation for successful creation

Education and qualifications:

  • Master's degree in physics, Optics, or other relevant scientific discipline; Ph.D. preferred
  • Significant, demonstrable experience and skill in hands-on work with lasers and optical techniques
  • Unrestricted right to work in the United States
  • Experience with optical parametric oscillators and/or integrated photonics, preferred
  • Skills in electronics and/or software for controls and analysis, preferred
