Utilizing laser cutting, machining, forming, stamping, welding, & assembly processes; the company transforms sheet metal into complex, tight-tolerance brackets for aircraft engines. With an ever-changing aerospace industry in which customers continually ask suppliers to integrate and innovate, Andrews Laser Works is responding to the challenge.Position Summary:Level Two -Level two laser operators interpret work instructions and router as well as gather related work documents. They will perform basic setup tasks including powering up and zeroing the machine, as well as uploading programs from a central database. They will also interact with the laser in order to change offsets, and change the focus of laser. In addition to Level one laser Operator duties, Level 2 operators will trouble shoot production issues, demonstrate competencies in basic program editing, which includes basic G code to add lines & edit lines to manipulate the laser path. Level two laser operators demonstrate the ability to perform a full machine recovery, and torch change outs (blue flame), and are also forklift certified..Primary Duties & Responsibilities:* Safely and efficiently operate Mazak lasers to cut parts to customer supplied specifications.* Perform basic setup tasks.* loading and unloading material using a crane.* Maintain quality standards including performing in process inspection procedures.Required Skills:* The ability to identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with assistance.* A basic knowledge of shop math including fractions, decimals and simple geometry.* Basic print reading competencies.* A firm understanding of and ability to use a wide range of inspection tools.* A firm understanding of cutting tools, specifically geometry and applications.Required Experience:* 2-3 years of experienceLevel of Education:* GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.* Forklift operator certification ableAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
