Job Description
- Reports to work when scheduled. Attends all mandatory in-services by employee's anniversary date
- Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures
- Works under the direction of the Housekeeping Director and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team
- Ability to adjust to changes with shift assignments to meet facility needs
- Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines
- Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment
- Washes, dries, folds and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
- Identifies personal laundry with resident's name and re-marks personal clothing items, if needed
- Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas
- Completes all daily assignments by the supervisor
- Keeps work area clean and neat and performs cleaning assignments as scheduled
- Works in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff
- Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions
- Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Director
- Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner
- Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner
- Uses facility equipment safely
- Recognizes, removes and/or reports potential hazards
- Disposes of waste properly
- Complies with departmental dress code
- Understands and complies with all infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures
- Addresses residents in a respectful manner and knocks prior to entering resident rooms
- Maintains confidentiality and discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only
- Able to stand and walk majority of shift
- Bend, squat, crouch, reaching frequently. Pushing/pulling occasionally
- Able to lift 35 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds with assistance
Qualification
- High school diploma or GED
