Job Description

  • Reports to work when scheduled. Attends all mandatory in-services by employee's anniversary date
  • Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures
  • Works under the direction of the Housekeeping Director and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to adjust to changes with shift assignments to meet facility needs
  • Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines
  • Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment
  • Washes, dries, folds and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
  • Identifies personal laundry with resident's name and re-marks personal clothing items, if needed
  • Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas
  • Completes all daily assignments by the supervisor
  • Keeps work area clean and neat and performs cleaning assignments as scheduled
  • Works in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions
  • Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Director
  • Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner
  • Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner
  • Uses facility equipment safely
  • Recognizes, removes and/or reports potential hazards
  • Disposes of waste properly
  • Complies with departmental dress code
  • Understands and complies with all infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures
  • Addresses residents in a respectful manner and knocks prior to entering resident rooms
  • Maintains confidentiality and discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only
  • Able to stand and walk majority of shift
  • Bend, squat, crouch, reaching frequently. Pushing/pulling occasionally
  • Able to lift 35 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds with assistance

Qualification

  • High school diploma or GED
