Full Time 8a-4pJOB PURPOSE:Tends laundering machines to clean sheets, blankets, pillow coverings, and personal articles of patients. Loads articles in washer and adds specified amount of detergent or other cleaning agents. Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into wringer and dryer for measured time cycles. Sorts dry articles according to identification numbers or type. Folds and places items in appropriate storage bin.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Folds and sorts laundry (blankets, sheets, towels etc.) and personal clothing item2.Hangs clothes on racks according to name and numbers.3.Delivers patient/residents laundry to designated area4.Ensures that patients/residents clothes are ready to wear, not in disrepair and put in proper place5.Understands functions of various soaps and bleache6.Follows precautions as stated on MSDS for all chemicals used7.Washes and dries clothes and linen8.Keeps equipment clean and follows cleaning schedule9.Maintains a clean and organized area; sweeps and mops laundry area10. Reports any needed repairs to maintenance department11. Operates large filters according to established schedule12. Ensures proper handling of soiled laundry item13. Cleans and disinfects linen carts as required per policy and procedure14. Empties washers and dryers as requested/necessary15. Operates water, gas, and electric cutoff switches and valve16. Understands the proper process for stain removalQualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:High School Degree preferred.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:On-the-job training providedADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)Previous experience in healthcare laundering processesFamily Makes Us Stronger.
