* Sort linen to be washed according to fabric type and color.
* Pre-spot heavily soiled and stained linen.
* Load linens into washer according to size of machine and set on appropriate cycle.
* Ensure specified amount of soap and other necessary chemicals are added toeach load. Change laundry chemicals as needed.
* Remove clean, wet linens from washing machines and place in dryers at appropriate temperature setting.
* Unload dryers, fold and stack linen.
* Shake out flat goods for ironing and pressing.
* Sort and provide constant flow of linen to rooms and food & beverage.
* Wipe down washer and dryer daily. Clean dryer lint traps and washer drain as prescribed by hotel S.O.P.'s.
* Transport clean linen to linen storage closets and areas.
* Clean laundry room and equipment daily.
* Maintain laundering machines and report any equipment problems to laundry supervisor.
* Participate in linen inventory as assigned.
* Maintain log of washing, drying and ironing production.
* Complete preventive cleaning and laundering as assigned.
* Wear proper attire; clean uniform, proper shoes at all times.
* Perform duties of other laundry and housekeeping positions as needed.
* Attend all meetings related to laundry.
* Maintain knowledge of cleaning supplies issued daily to ensure they are used according to instructions to avoid injury/accident or damage to hotel property.
**EXPERIENCE:** One (1) year laundry experience in a commercial setting or Hotel experience preferred. * Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout shift with little to no sitting.
* Must be able to stoop, twist, bend and reach above shoulders and head.
Must be able to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs with or without an accommodation.
* Ability to use and operate computer keyboards, washing machine, dryer and ironer/presser.
* Use of full range peripheral vision.
* Must be able to work with medium/heavy chemicals.
* Answer and communicate verbally and in writing.
* Must have developed English language skills to be able to participate in discussions, read and write effectively.
