Job Description

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company's business operations.
• Maintains standards of quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments.
• Observes all house and safety rules, housekeeping room procedures, and security procedures.
• Cooperates with Managers and Supervisors to complete any requests, as soon as possible.
• Uses correct cleaning chemicals, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Uses correct personal protection equipment in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
• Sorts, pretreats, washes, dries, and folds linens.
• Inspects linens for tears and/or stains and rejects or reclaims them..
• Delivers guest service supplies to guest rooms.
• Restocks housekeeping closets and carts.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilitiesProcess all bed linens, terry, and table linens by operating all laundry/dry cleaning machinery in accordance with hotel's standards. Clean, press and finish staff and guest garments, as well as designated guest room fabrics and articles.Sorting and Washing Linens

• Responsibility: Sorting linens and other laundry items based on fabric type, color, and degree of soiling to ensure proper washing. Understanding the importance of handling delicate fabrics differently from more durable items.
• Tasks:
• Sort linens, towels, and uniforms by color, fabric type, and level of dirtiness.
• Pre-treat stains and inspect items for any damages before washing.
• Operate washing machines, following specific instructions for different types of fabrics.

Operating Laundry Equipment

• Responsibility: Efficiently operating a variety of laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and presses, while adhering to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
• Tasks:
• Load and unload laundry from machines.
• Select appropriate settings on washing machines and dryers based on the type of laundry.
• Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.

Folding and Organizing Clean Laundry

• Responsibility: Folding clean laundry with precision, organizing it neatly, and preparing it for distribution to different departments.
• Tasks:
• Fold towels, linens, and other items neatly and consistently.
• Organize and store clean laundry in designated areas.
• Prepare and package laundry for distribution to guest rooms or other hotel areas.

Inspecting and Maintaining Laundry Standards

• Responsibility: Ensuring all laundered items meet the hotel's quality standards, inspecting for any remaining stains, tears, or wear, and handling items accordingly.
• Tasks:
• Inspect all cleaned items for quality assurance, ensuring they are stain-free, intact, and properly laundered.
• Remove and report any items that do not meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized laundry area at all times.

Inventory Management and Reporting

• Responsibility: Keeping track of laundry supplies, linens, and other materials, reporting any shortages or needs for replacements.
• Tasks:
• Monitor the inventory of laundry detergents, fabric softeners, and other supplies.
• Keep track of linen counts and report any shortages or excessive wear to the supervisor.
• Assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels.

Assisting with Other Housekeeping Duties

• Responsibility: Collaborating with the housekeeping team to ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the hotel.
• Tasks:
  • Assist with cleaning tasks in guest rooms or public areas when needed.
  • Help with stocking housekeeping carts with fresh linens and other supplies.
  • Support other team members in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for guests.

These responsibilities require attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization, ensuring that guests receive the best possible experience.QualificationsQualifications

• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of laundry/dry cleaning equipment and chemical handling
• Knowledge of finishing techniques for all types of fabrics.
