Embassy Suites Jacksonville is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to join our hospitality team! In this role, you will ensure guests experience clean and fresh linens by managing the washing, drying, and folding of hotel laundry. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include sorting linens, operating laundry equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is a plus, but not required.Join us in creating memorable stays for our guests!Apply today!POSITION SUMMARY:The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel within the standards established by the hotel. Working Shift: 8:00am-10:00pmESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential Duties: 1. Pre-sorts and inspects linens to locate and salvage stained or torn items; records counts for discardeditems.2. Maintains and controls proper usage of laundry supplies and equipment, including cleaning dryer toprevent lint build-up.3. Responds promptly and follows through on guest requests and complaints in effective and friendlymanner.Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides information to guests about hotel services, facilities and other available amenities in a courteous, accurate manner.- Greets all guests in corridors.- Projects a professional image of the hotel.- Has a friendly, personable style with guests and anticipates customer needs.- Loads and operates commercial washers and dryers.- Folds and stacks towels, sheets and other linens.- Reports all equipment maintenance items to supervisor.- Maintains laundry area storerooms and linen closets in an organized, neat and clean manner.ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance. - Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. - Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with guests and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. - Respectfully takes direction from supervisor. - Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures and reports all unsafe activities to supervisor. - Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve hotel and company goals. - Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills. - Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Computer Skills: Has the minimal skills necessary to operate a computer. Can log on to a computer system, navigate in windows, perform simple tasks within applications and enter information into a database. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
