Description Position at Danbury Hospital Summary: The Laundry Supervisor manages the daily operations of a laundry services department. Assigns and reviews the work of laundry employees engaged in receiving, packaging and delivering laundry to various departments or guests. Has direct communication with Nursing Leadership.Responsibilities:
- Issues a purchase order using automated methods and contacts supplies vendors according to established department procedures to place orders.
- Handles the setup and coordination of laundry/linen inventory locations to insure smooth , efficient, safe, processing and organized workflow.
- Researches and resolve's problems regarding linen inventory, usage and billing discrepancies in order and ensure continuity of operations
- Reviews quality of linen and recommends products and purchasing/ delivery process that will improve the quality of service.
- Maintains item master file within the Linen department for house wide use.
- Approves invoices and reconciles account payable.
- Generates and posts all schedules for all three shifts
- Edits and approves employee payroll
- Prepares and maintains reports, records, and all department files
- Participates in projects or on committees as directed by department leadership
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Trains department staff, clinical and operational hospital staff in proper laundry/Linen handling and processing.
- Monitors and works with Danbury Hospital staff to reduce linen replacement costs.
- Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.
- Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
