Laundry Services Technician serves to provide for the safe operation of the Rescue Mission's laundry services ministry, which operates 365 days a year. Supports the laundry needs of the Shelters and Kitchen. Reports to: Facilities Administrator Hours of Availability: Sunday, Monday Tuesday Wednesday, Sat. Some days you could work 5:30 pm - 10:00pm and also some days you could work 6:00pm - 2:30pm weekends & holidays as scheduled Compensation: starting at $15.91/hour (non-exempt/hourly) Our Team Members should exhibit the following: · Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk that is evident of that love. Individual must be willing to adhere to The Rescue Mission of Roanoke's Code of Ethics. · Demonstrates a genuine interest in the safety and well-being of our guests and team members. · Understanding of volunteer engagement and ability to utilize and appreciate volunteers in daily tasks. · Strong work ethic and commitment to work as scheduled to include holidays and weekends as assigned. · Strong listening, as well as written & verbal communication skills to execute instructions, keep others informed and exhibit professionalism. · Demonstrated attention to detail/strong organizational skills to assist with multiple daily assignments and special projects. · Ambitious to exceed expectations. Job Specific Qualifications: · Ability to learn and operate commercial washer and dryer equipment · Ability to organize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner · Direct volunteers in assisting the completion of assigned tasks · Willingness to work with team members from shelters to complete the assigned tasks · Available to attend shelter and facilities meetings as scheduled Career Summary (may include other duties as assigned)Laundry Services Technicians provide laundry services for guests, participants, the shelters, and kitchen services. They inspect laundry area and equipment for proper usage. Distribute completed laundry to appropriate persons/areas. Supervise volunteers with instructions and support. Responsible for the safety and security of the laundry area to include equipment and personal belongings. All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the Facilities Administrator or the Mission Leadership team.
