Sunset Senior Living in Quincy, IL has Laundry Worker Openings:
Hours: Part-Time Day Shift, Full-Time Evening Shift
Shift Time: 5:30am-1:00pm or 11:00am-7:30pm
The Laundry Worker is responsible for laundering residents' clothing, linens, and other items in a timely and sanitary manner, ensuring that all laundry is handled according to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilties:
- Collect, sort, and launder residents' personal clothing, bedding, towels, and facility linens.
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment following established procedures.
- Identify and treat stains, damages, or special care items.
- Fold, iron, and properly organize clean laundry, ensuring it is neatly returned to residents' rooms or appropriate departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the laundry room, including routine equipment cleaning and reporting any maintenance or operational issues.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols when handling soiled laundry, ensuring compliance with healthcare guidelines.
- Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies and notify management when restocking is necessary.
- Assist with special requests, such as handling delicate items or urgent laundry needs for residents.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and nursing staff to ensure the prompt return of laundered items to residents.
Requirements:
Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in laundry services, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting, is a plus.
- Ability to operate industrial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
- Knowledge of laundry techniques, including stain treatment and fabric care.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs, and occassionally up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
- A commitment to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate attitude towards senior residents.
