A laundry worker ensures that guests always have clean, fresh linen and terry. This position is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, and folding linen and towels, maintaining the laundry facility, and stocking housekeeping closets. This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service and contributing to the success of the housekeeping department.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
High school diploma or GED.
Laundry experience.
Customer service/guest interaction experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Dependable, responsible, honest, strong work ethic, positive attitude, work independently and as part of team; work under time constraints and in a fast-paced environment; Understand and speak English; Attitude, initiative and interest in job details will be considered on an equal basis with related experience.
Physical Demands
Employees stand/walk for long periods of time; climb stairs; reach, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and work with hands; see dust, hair lint, and dirt; smell odors to identify the source to clean; work in a small/tight spaces (between beds and walls in hotel rooms, storage closets, etc.); lift or move at least 30 pounds; and push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 75 pounds.
