O'Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is a regional skilled nursing facility specializing in providing care for approximately 140 adults with chronic, complex, medical conditions that coexist with neurocognitive disorders. The facility operates 24/7 and employs approximately 500 staff, while receiving its operating budget from State, Federal, and Special Funds. The organizational unit embraces a centralized work statement to ensure the strategic mission of DHHS Human Resources is achieved.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead Benefits Administrator, a multi-purposed role that performs advanced level work providing technical assistance in Benefits, Worker's Compensation, Timekeeping, Employee Recognition, and supports Employee Relations consults. Work is completed independently, which includes the analysis, interpretation, and execution of all OSHR/DHHS functional area policies. This position reviews documentation for compliance with State and Federal regulations and policies, ensuring appropriate documents are processed timely. This position will process and monitor all documents and actions related to Family Medical Leave, Family Illness Leave, Extended Leave, Military Leave, Voluntary Shared Leave, Community Service Leave and Worker's Compensation. This position will also monitor all requests for Separation, Short-term/Long-term Disability, NC Retirement and Health Benefits that occur with employees at the Center, as well as plan, organize, and distribute the yearly Service Awards for the Center. This position will also provide technical assistance and support to the Human Resources Manager and Employee Relations Consultant. The incumbent will work alongside, lead, and be responsible for the accurate completion of work assignments aligned to Benefits Administration, Worker's Compensation Administrator, and Timekeepers at the facility.

Basic to working knowledge of federal and state laws, and State policies, procedures and practices.

Mentors, leads, and fosters growth and development with other HR professionals.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Management Preferences
Experience using Integrated HR-Payroll System (FIORI), Orbit, and Kronos.

Associate's degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
