The individual in this role will be responsible for operating and maintaining all bindery equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all bindery equipment including Presto II saddle stitcher, Stahl Folder, Polar Cutter, Granit 3 knife trimmer, and Vareo bookbinder.
- Schedule and plan jobs according to priority of production needs.
- Train other bindery operators in operating, cleaning, and maintenance procedures on bindery equipment.
- Set up, run and clean equipment when necessary.
- Assist with recycling papers.
- Operate forklift and pallet jacks.
- Label completed boxes.
- Shrink-wrap, palletize and band folded jobs for pick-up by outside binderies.
- Other position-related tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating bindery equipment and/or experience with machines such as saddle stitchers, cutters, large and small folders, collators, drill presses, table folders, and corner cutters desired.
- Certification and experience operating a forklift, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent SRF adequately when dealing with the public.
- Ability to function well in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to honor and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
This is a 40 hour per week position, Monday through Friday.
Pay range: $22.00 - $28.50 per hour.
