We are committed to delivering safe, reliable service that gets customers to their destinations on time-and we're looking to hire talented folks with a commitment to excellence to make it all possible.Roles and Responsibilities:+ Coordinates furniture systems installation, inventory, storage and movement of materials to and from warehouse facility and various buildings and facilities located throughout NJ TRANSIT.+ Coordinates meeting room set-up and support, as well as support for special projects and initiatives as assigned.+ Leads the work of contracted project Facility Workers in the performance of light construction, maintenance and repair of electrical and plumbing fixtures and other building hardware and equipment.+ Conducts daily building inspections, and reports unsafe conditions, maintenance problems, service needs and occupant violations to Supervisor for documentation and follow-up.+ Assists Supervisor in the coordination of third-party contractors.+ Determines and maintains inventory of hardware, parts, tools and equipment for unit; maintains neat, clean, safe and orderly maintenance shop, ensuring that all materials and tools are stored in designated locations.+ Performs Boiler Watch duty.Education, Experience, and Qualifications:+ High School Diploma+ 2 years' experience in routine basic building maintenance and related support services (door hardware repair/replacement, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile repair/replacement, preparing areas for painting, painting of walls, water filter replacement, and minor carpet work+ Six (6) months of hands on experience in boiler operation and maintenanceCertificates, Licenses, Registrations :+ Valid driver's license required.+ Black Seal Boiler license desired but agrees to work toward obtaining certificationPhysical Demands:+ Lifting 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, operating lifts.At NJ Transit, you will enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefits package:+ Comprehensive Family Health Insurance - Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision+ Flexible Spending Account+ Life Insurance+ Paid Leave+ Tuition Assistance+ Pre-Tax Commuter Benefits Plan+ Retirement Plans+ 401(a) - Retirement plan with a 6% employer contribution+ 401(k) - Retirement saving plan with up to an 3% company match+ 457(b) - Deferred Savings PlanAt NJ TRANSIT, diversity and inclusivity are vital to our success as we are committed to hiring individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and veteran status.
