This includes ensuring materials are available to meet internal and external customer requirements while working within the constraints of the business and while constantly driving to improve the supply chain working capital metrics and corporate profitability.
  • Accountable for overall inventory position of 'assigned' items and affiliated company goals (availability) for those items both for assigned purchased spend as well as team member purchased spend.
  • Accountable for determining, in concert with departmental and company goals, dispositioning actions of E&O material.
  • Work directly with Strategic Sourcing to establish strategic suppliers for major commodities, both LCR and domestic, who can deliver near-optimal QDC and allow us to meet working capital goals.
  • Lead and/or assist in negotiations of contracts with strategic suppliers.
  • Move all logical parts to Kanban (CEK).
  • Act as escalation point to assist direct reports with supplier and business-related issues.
  • Provide day to day tactical guidance to team members and maintain SOP's ensuring consistent completion of standard work.
  • Become the designated Point of Contact between the suppliers and factory.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine sources of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Input and maintenance of special tasks within the BU systems.
  • Develop and maintain analytics to measure supplier and supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Emphasize/support actions necessary to improve business functionality
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; MBA or Master's in technical field a plus
  • 8+ years of experience Project Management experience
  • Experience sourcing metal commodities a plus
  • Experience leading teams and driving results
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Strong understanding of the various lean principles. Green belt or black belt certification beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • A strategic focus on what is important to the Company and his/her role in accomplishing this task
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Computer skills with strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • High degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness in the pursuit of cost improvements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success managing teams
  • Ability to drive change while also embracing and looking to improve upon existing best practices
