People like you.Visit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks await!Job Description:As a Calibration Technician, you will apply knowledge of mathematics and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy. The Calibration Technician will identify and utilize appropriate manual and automated measurement procedures.This position will normally receive little instruction on work, applying job skills and company policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks, and working on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. The Calibration Technician will track and schedule all required inspections internal and external; maintain database and may perform some administrative duties.Requirements/Qualifications:Required
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years electrics or calibration experience
  • Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in one or more of the following disciplines - Acoustical, Dimensional, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Optical, and Time & Frequency, to ensure compliance with published specifications
  • Track and control all calibration records in MET/Teams database
  • Maintain calibration standards
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment
  • Develop calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, drawings, and other technical requirements
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc
  • Prepare calibration reports and certificates
  • Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures.
  • Interfaces with the equipment owners to determine support requirements.
  • Ensures the calibration laboratory is maintained.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
Desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of calibration experience some of which can be offset with formal metrology training
  • Good computer skills
  • Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
  • Can learn to work within databases and software applications
  • Must possess good written and oral, communication skills
  • Technical writing ability
  • Intermediate ability to troubleshoot repair, align and optimize precision equipment
  • Knowledge of Quality Management system (ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540)
  • Strong attention to details
  • Must be a self-motivator, work as a team player, and follow written procedures
  • Capable of lifting to 50lbs occasionally to access and handle equipment.
