Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned.* Must have a CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education* Must be at least 18 years of age, (must be 21 years of age to work with infants)* Prior Childcare experience preferred* Must be CPR/First Aid certified - or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly)* Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred. Willingnessto learn is a must.* Professional dress and appearance is a must.* Must be competent in language arts and math.* Ability to interact professionally with adults and children with a positive attitude.* Maintain confidentiality on job related tasks.* Must be willing to learn, set professional goals, and participate in job related training.Performance Responsibilities: Others may be assigned.* Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner.* Maintain a clean and safe classroom.* Ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensingstandards. Classrooms must be in compliance at all times.* Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers.* Monitor student's progress; communicate milestones with parents.* Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthlyobservations, and bi-annual progress reports.* Use curriculum effectively and write lesson plans based on each child's ability anddevelopmental level.* Maintain rapport with parents.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
