Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned.* Must have a CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education* Must be at least 18 years of age, (must be 21 years of age to work with infants)* Prior Childcare experience preferred* Must be CPR/First Aid certified - or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly)* Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred. Willingnessto learn is a must.* Professional dress and appearance is a must.* Must be competent in language arts and math.* Ability to interact professionally with adults and children with a positive attitude.* Maintain confidentiality on job related tasks.* Must be willing to learn, set professional goals, and participate in job related training.Performance Responsibilities: Others may be assigned.* Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner.* Maintain a clean and safe classroom.* Ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensingstandards. Classrooms must be in compliance at all times.* Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers.* Monitor student's progress; communicate milestones with parents.* Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthlyobservations, and bi-annual progress reports.* Use curriculum effectively and write lesson plans based on each child's ability anddevelopmental level.* Maintain rapport with parents.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must regularly lift and /ormove up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally liftand/or move up to 50 pounds.
