Post Internal Days 0 Category Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) Description POSITION TITLE: LEAD CASE MANAGER, Unaccompanied Children (UC) Services ProgramDEPARTMENT: Family Support ServicesREPORTS TO: Program Director, UC Services ProgramCGS 's Unaccompanied Children Services Program serves children/youth presenting a range of challenging behaviors, especially those related to symptoms of trauma. The Program's services are provided by bilingual (Spanish/English) staffs who receives specialized training in the special needs of refugee children. The program provides a safe, therapeutic environment in a family-like setting that addresses the requirements of each child/youth in a manner that is sensitive to his or her age; preserves cultural, ethnic and religious heritage; and meets dietary needs, native language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other critical individual needs.ResponsibilitiesThe Case Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:1. Maintain direct contact with each child/youth assigned2. Maintain direct contact with the child's/youth's family to the extent possible3. Conduct case management tasks4. For case managers assigned to TFC/LTFC program they will be responsible to visit the foster homes monthly to assure children remain in a safe environment.5. Provide services focused on completing safe and efficient family reunification6. Work with Lead Caseworker and other staff on development and implementation of Individual Service Plans7. Screen for human trafficking concerns8. Document the provision of services in child's/youth's case record9. Participate in ongoing training10. Participate in case conferences11. Perform other duties as requested12. Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity, among the agency's service population and staffThe supervisory duties:1. Responsible to supervise a team of 5-7 case managers2. Monitoring monthly calendar of case manager's activities which relate to mandated client contacts.3. Arranging weekly individual conferences with case managers to monitor and assess caseload organization, management, activity and performance in accordance with mandated requirements of agency, and ORR policies and procedures.4. Monitoring the accurate and timely input of data into the computer system and reports to ORR.5. Being responsible for ongoing evaluation of the worker's professional performance with appropriate discussion reports written as required and submissions of timely written performance evaluation to the Personnel Department.6. Responsible for emergency case activity in the absence of the case manager for any reason and for submission of needed reports.Qualifications LMSW/MSW or other relevant social services or behavioral field, or bachelor's degree and at least 3 years progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience.
