The responsibilities for this position include preparing and serving food for general dining, events, and other related food service functions. Position Responsibilities-Preparing and serving food for catering & events services-Maintaining and stocking service lines, beverage stations, and refrigerated areas-Follow proper sanitation and food handling procedures-Train, instruct, and supervise seasonal staff as required-Operate cash register for general dining food lines-Provide job assignment status feedback to the Supervisor of General Dining Services-Interact in a courteous manner with clientele, fellow employees, and other supervisors-Provide inventory and product usage information to the General Dining Services Supervisor-Collect weekly cash receipts and maintain the Point of Sale bank Position RequirementsEducation: High School diploma or equivalentExperience: One-year in commercial food handling preferredKnowledge/Skills:- Knife Skills- Basic equipment operation & safe handling practices- Cold food preparation and serving- Proper sanitation procedures- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.- Proficient in Outlook and Excel preferred.- Knowledge of a point-of-sale system preferred.- Nassau County Department of Health sanitation certificate preferred.- Ability to understand the Spanish language is helpful.Working Conditions:- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.- Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and turning.- Receiving of information through oral communication and a computer.- Exposure to heat and noise.
