Job Title: Lead TeacherPosition: Full-TimeThe Grove Childcare Center provides a nurturing and enriching environment for children to grow and learn in a Nature-Based and STEM focused childcare learning center. Our team is passionate about fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in every child. We believe in building strong relationships with families and the community, and we're looking for dedicated Lead Teachers to join our team!
Position Overview: As the Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of our young learners. You're responsible for creating a stimulating and safe classroom environment, develop engaging lesson plans, and mentor assistant teachers while collaborating with families to support each child's development.
Requirements - Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
- Create a positive, and engaging classroom environment, serving as a role model for children in attitude, speech, and actions.
- Monitor and document children's progress and development, identifying areas for improvement and individual needs.
- Build strong relationships with families and maintain open, ongoing communication.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and center-sponsored events.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate records related to children's development, attendance, and any incidents.
Qualifications - Must meet the Wisconsin DCF 251.05(3)(f) lead teacher qualifications.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent, as recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
- A minimum of 240 hours of experience as an assistant childcare teacher in a group childcare setting, as a licensed family childcare provider, or in another approved early childhood environment.
- Completion of required qualifications outlined in Column 2 of the WI DCF Licensing Rule Book 251.05(3)(f) before assuming the role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their growth and development.
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive, organized, and clean classroom environment.
- Successful completion of a background check.
