Partners Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to cultural diversity.What it's aboutIn this position you will act as a senior member of the Customer Due Diligence ('CDD') team, who owns/develops the AML and CDD technical expertisefor the firm across the globe. Partners Group operates a CDD team which sets up the governance framework for jurisdictional AML and CDD requirements and oversees the execution of AML and CDD tasks by its various service providers. In this role the candidate and the wider CDD team operate in close conjunction with Client Solutions and Compliance teams. This role also includes significant project work.The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with AML and CDD regulations in Cayman and in the United States. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our AML and CDD program in these two jurisdictions.Your tasks will include:
  • Leading the development and maintenance of the US and Cayman AML and CDD programs from a first line perspective. The programs are to be fit for purpose for both the private wealth and closed-ended business of the firm;
  • Successfully drive service providers to deliver quality and performance in accordance with established Partners Group standards;
  • Maintaining a state of the art, risk-based control testing program on US and Cayman service providers, in line with the respective regulatory requirements and expectations;
  • Drawing up and/or strengthening AML/CDD processes/operations to ensure an appropriate governance framework for Partners Group and for all the funds it manages;
  • Leading and making significant contributions to local and global AML/CFT team projects with tight deadlines as well as significantly contributing to cross-team/inter-departmental projects;
  • Review the work and deliverables of junior CDD officers within the team;
  • Acts as a role model for the junior CDD officers within the team and coaches junior CDD officers in US and Cayman AML/CDD matters;
  • Act as the AML/CDD business enabler while ensuring compliance assurance with regulation and regulatory expectations. Resolve challenges in a solutions-oriented manner and in a timely fashion, understanding the urgent needs of the business and acting fast;
  • Establishing an excellent relationship with the various stakeholders, including Client Solutions and Compliance.What we expect
  • This is a position suited to a senior professional with a minimum of 7 - 9 years of relevant Cayman and US AML/CDD experience in the funds industry and private markets space. Cayman AML/CDD expertise and exposure to CIMA expectations is a must. US and Canadian AML law experience is a plus.
  • The candidate is one who enjoys translating regulatory requirements into operations, and enjoys running a compliance assurance role within first line.
  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and/or related certifications in AML compliance (e.g. CAMS).
  • Candidates are required to have audit and/or control testing/compliance assurance skills.
