The Lead Technologist operates as a content expert and high functioning lab technologist within the Transfusion Medicine team. Take advantage of this great advancement opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Technologist! Oversees or participates in the technical operations including QA/QC checks, system maintenance issues, accuracy of test results, and general sample troubleshooting.Oversees laboratory staff in the performance of qualitative and quantitative test procedures.Acts as reference source for technologists in the correlation of test data.Implements solutions to problems in processing and delivering highly accurate patient data.Participates in QA/QC concerns, which relate to result data delivery and patient care.Oversees issues relating to laboratory workflow and productivity.Tracks and responds to questions relating to testing procedures and results.Participates in the orientation and training of staff.Provide staff supervisory coverage as needed.This is a full-time night shift position. Working Monday through Friday 12a-8a with rotating weekends and holidays. Preferred Criteria ASCP certificationExperience with laboratory regulations and/or CAP inspectionsRequired CriteriaBachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related scienceNew York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department4 years experience as a Laboratory Technologist (or 2 years experience with a Master's degree)Knowledge of laboratory policies and proceduresStrong communication skills#TMJoin a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
