About the roleThe Lead Consultant will lead the Data Center High Level Designs/Layer ZERO consulting. The Lead Consultant will be charged with designing a “Logical” solution for the customer that includes power, including Redundancy & Distribution, Cooling Layouts, Fire protection, Cabling. This resource can expect to work closely with a Network Consultant, Security Consultant, and End User Consultant. The Lead Consultant must be able to transform the current state of the data center, create a roadmap/path to the future state, specifically keeping in mind the direct impact it has on end users downstream. In this role you will act as a functional as opposed to hands-on architect.
What you'll be doing
Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.Responsible for creation of IT architecture models and their high-level components, including working with SMEs on lower-level designs.Analyze requirements, assess current implementations and systems, and design migration solutions with the application architect to meet or exceed the stated objectives.Interpret, use, and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of IT future state systems.Collaborate with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the Enterprise Architects.Recommend the most suitable technical architecture and define the solution at a high level.Recommend and participate in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.Identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participate in any POC projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.Identify implementation risks and analyze potential impact on the enterprise and the achievement of scheduled objectives.Share best practices, lessons learned, and update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming vendor products and solutions.Ensure the respective business, application, data, and technology perspectives are aligned to the organization's future technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards.Embrace and support Computacenter's mission and core values.What you have
5 - 7+ years infrastructure transformation & migrations SME of Data Center MigrationLegally eligible to work in the United States.Strong focus and experience around Data Center operations, relocation, decommission, physical infrastructure and site-to-site migrations.Experience developing and documenting deliverables and presenting to C-level customers.Experience making recommendations and participating in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure consistency with long-term business objectives.Fluent ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.Superior written and oral communications skills.What you can expectThere's so much more to enjoy about being at Computacenter than just having a rewarding career.
