SUMMARY:Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Company credit policies and procedures.Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to...Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Assist in the training of other staff personnel, including the credit clerks.
- Be responsible for the correspondence to the customers concerning their credit limits, including the approvals and denials and correcting any deficiencies or issues that may arise from this correspondence.
- Assist credit customers, as required.
- Process new credit applications for both individuals and businesses.
- Assist with returned checks and payments, as required.
- Enter new authorized credit lines.
- Assist in the financial balancing of bank collections, receipts from collection agencies and prosecution reports.
- Make telephone calls concerning collections on past due and over-the-limit accounts.
- Process payments as required.
- Assists with various departmental needs (i.e. calling banks to verify cashier checks, obtaining bank ratings on applicants, etc.).
- Answers the phone; assists customers with any credit-related problems; provides information to Central Credit as needed.
- Ensures accuracy in cashing checks and entering information into computer.
- Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Leads by setting a positive example to all employees.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record

Two (2) years of previous experience in credit and collections is required.TESTING:Must score a minimum of 35 WPM, with an accuracy rating of 85% or better on the Keyboarding test and Basic Math Test with 84.5%, and achieve a score of 70% or better within 20 minutes on the ExcelSPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Effective communication skills required.Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literateLANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates of the organization.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Essential physical abilities are walk or stand for 50% of assigned shift, must be able to sit for extended periods of time, bending stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling may be required throughout shift. Must be able to lift and maneuver at least thirty (30) lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
