Job Description:

What You'll Do

  • If you are a motivated and experienced data analyst in the Payments Network who is passionate about collaborating with teams and driving business growth through data-driven solutions, we encourage you to apply. We are seeking experienced candidates to join our team to provide data-driven solutions to the Counterparty restitution analytics & Pricing division of the Discover Global Network. You will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with stakeholders to analyze and interpret large sets of data to provide data-driven insights to a broad base of customers in the Counterparty restitution, Pricing and Products. Responsible for working closely with management to execute analytical initiatives. Responsible for solving business problem by leveraging techniques such as segmentation, optimization, advanced analytics and machine learning. Creates reports and dashboards to closely monitor performance metrics and provide insights.

  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

How You'll Do It

  • Leads the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithm & recommendation to solve business problems. Operates as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling & application, and financial impact analysis.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations. Delivers effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information.

  • Establishes and maintains effective performance tracking; identify improvement opportunity, form hypothesis, proposes, designs and implements tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization.

  • Manages multiple priorities, communicate business performance and project progress to management & business partners.

  • Develops and automates reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Facilitates implementation of work product and ensure.

  • Consistently follows standard work processes and documentation requirements. Recommends improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintaining quality of work. Continuously improves technical and leadership skills through training and development.

  • Communicate complex data concepts and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data science/data analytics technologies and techniques.

  • Support automation by developing and maintaining self-service solutions to visualize, monitor and communicate data insights.

  • Perform ad-hoc data, variance and financial analyses to support business decisions and strategy.

Qualifications You'll NeedThe Basics

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics or related.

  • 4+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, Optimization, Operations Analytics, Modeling/Data Science or related.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Masters in Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics.

  • 2+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, Optimization, Operations Analytics, Modeling/Data Science or related

  • Experience in Payments Network Applications like Merchant/Acquirer/Issuer Settlement & Pricing and Authorization

  • Excellent communication & problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders

  • Strong proficiency in SQL (snowflake), excel and experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau

  • Understanding of restitution and proactive monitoring techniques

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $105,500.00 to $147,100.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
