WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Back Office Lead coordinates the day to day functions of all of the back office duties of the dental clinic. The Lead provides direction and guidance to the assistants as needed to ensure efficiency the dental provider schedules and ensure staff are well trained and have the tools and resources to fulfill job duties. The Lead also ensures patient flow and efficiency goals of the providers' schedules are met daily.

Additionally, the Lead is required to be Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and provide quality care and services to patients by assisting dentists and other staff in a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. Affect the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional preparation of patients and patient information, including taking and processing x-rays.

Compensation - Dependent Upon Experience

$28.00 - $36.40 an hour

Requirements

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The successful candidate will be willing and able to:

* Coordinates the day-to day clinical functions to provide excellent and efficient service to our patients.

* Ensures the dental assistant staff are well trained and operating at a high quality performance.

* Ensure all of the daily functions of the assistant team are completed in a timely matter.

* Participates and advises in personnel matters relating to the dental assistant staff to the Dental Manager.

* Assists the Dental Manager in developing and maintaining Quality Assurance program, as assigned.

* Meets regularly with the Dental Manager to present clinic staff ideas and concerns.

* Manages and purchases dental supplies and maintains dental budget. Interacts with vendors.

* Maintains a good attendance record according to Elica's Employee Handbook.

* Assures accurate and timely submission of the assistant staffs daily check sheets

* Orients new staff members on MSDS usage, location of eyewash stations, fire exit procedures, dental health record procedures, reappointment procedures, location of fire extinguishers, etc.

* Evaluates stock levels of supplies and oversees repair or replacement of dental equipment.

* Provides support staff training.

* Provides back office leadership to assure that the Dental Clinic operates smoothly and that effective day-to-day procedures are in place.

* Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) responsibilities: will provide quality care and services to patients by assisting dentist(s) and other staff in a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. Affect the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional preparation of patients and patient information, including taking and processing x-rays.

* Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate has:

* Must have a current / valid RDA license.

* Dental Sealants certification

* California dental practice act / infection control completed

* Radiation safety certification or successful completion of a radiation safety course.

* Current CPR certified

* Bilingual in English and Spanish, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, or Russian preferred

Additional Requirements

* Must have a current and valid California driver's license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

* If selected for an employment opportunity with Elica Health Centers, external hires must provide proof of immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella & Tetanus), tuberculosis clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination status* prior to their scheduled start date. The work environment is characteristic of a medical/dental clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
