Water Design Lead
An exciting career opportunity has opened with a leading multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm. They are seeking a skilled potable water distribution engineer to join their Water Environment Group at their headquarters in Lenexa, KS. The position will focus on designing impactful potable water distribution systems, including existing system pipe replacements, new distribution lines, pump stations, and storage tanks.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive design experience and thrive in a collaborative team environment, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of both rehabilitation and new construction projects, ensuring quality control throughout.
- Prepare calculations, design drawings, and specifications for potable water systems.
- Review existing reports and studies to support project design and development.
- Develop written studies, technical reports, and project design documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior staff to support their growth.
- Assist in business development efforts, including project proposals and pursuits.
- Create scope and fee proposals for potential projects.
- Contribute to various tasks as needed to support project and team goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- 8 + years of experience in water distribution system design or outside the fence work
- Professional Engineering certification in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, or the ability to obtain within six months.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
- Must be adept at managing fast-paced projects and dynamic environments.
