Senior Wastewater Engineer – Chesterfield, MO
An exciting career opportunity is available with a leading multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm. We are looking for a Senior Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Environment Group in Chesterfield, MO. This role will focus on the design of wastewater systems, including treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection systems, with an emphasis on both rehabilitation and new construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have substantial design experience and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, working in the best interests of our clients while maintaining a strong focus on quality and service excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of wastewater system projects, including both new construction and rehabilitation.
- Perform quality control reviews of design work and project deliverables.
- Prepare calculations, design drawings, and specifications for wastewater system projects.
- Review existing reports and studies to support the development of design projects.
- Prepare written studies and technical reports related to wastewater system design.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their professional development.
- Assist in business development activities, including preparing proposals and pursuing new projects.
- Develop scope and fee proposals for potential projects.
- Contribute to various tasks to ensure project and team success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- 8+ years of experience in wastewater treatment, pump station, and/or collection system design.
- Professional Engineering certification in Missouri or Kansas, or the ability to obtain certification within six months.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and team settings.
- Experience managing fast-paced projects and dynamic environments.
