Meridian Services, Inc.Where Dreams and Opportunities Align!Join our team as a Lead Direct Support Professional at our Hampshire North & South Residential Program in the Twin Cities.Location: St. Louis Park, MNWage: $20 an hourSchedule: 7 days on 7 days off with availability between 6 am to 10 pm during these days (the schedule will be made a week in advance). During the 7 day period you will also need to be on call for the program. While this position has a primary program, this position will also be cross trained at 5-6 other programs.Duties: The lead will be responsible for at least 20 hours direct care but should be prepared to potentially do 40. Meridian Services was established in 1980 working with SILS persons. Today, we have 30 group homes, 220 In-Home/SILS persons, and 120 Case Managers with our company in Minnesota. Our mission is to provide services of the finest quality so that those we serve will be able to realize their dreams.Overall SummaryWe're looking for a caring and experienced direct support professional to work with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, medical needs and mental health diagnosis that may work at a variety of group homes in the Twin Cities.As a lead direct support professional, you will be a part of helping people work on outcomes/goals to gain independence and lifelong skills. This position will be a mix of working direct support and administrative tasks each week. The lead will work on assisting the manager with appointments, paperwork and other misc. duties as assigned. Our ideal candidate must have experience working with intellectual disabilities, experience with person centered programming and experience with verbal and physical aggression.Responsibilities* Work on tailored outcomes with each person in the home. Outcomes may include: budgeting, behavioral management, community exploration, meal planning, organizational skills, coping skills, and/or physical fitness.* Assist with paperwork and attending doctor appointments* Be an active participant with individuals served when working on outcomes and out in the community.* Assist with personal cares as needed per person served* Provide guidance and instructional teaching to persons while building life skills.* Provide cleaning, cooking and medication administration to the people living at the home* Provide supervision and transportation in the community on activities and appointments.
