**Lead Driver/Tech Mobile Medical**

**SCHEDULE:** Days

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Drives a large (40 long) Mobile Medical Unit in a safe, responsible manner, ensuring the MMU is set up and ready prior to clinical team arriving. Ensures MMU is mechanically sound and is adequately fueled, completing pre and post inspections before and after each use. Promptly reports any adverse mechanical, unsafe or unkempt conditions of vehicle to Monroe Ambulance and supervisor.

Ensures that medical mobile units are able to be driven safely, able to complete basic maintenance procedures for

operation including vehicle refueling, generator operation, climate control operation, dumping waste, leveling jacks, maintenance checks, cleaning, supply purchasing, washing, etc...

Documents executed tasks and nursing orders in the medical record, while keeping clinician informed of any changes in patient condition, complaints or incidents.

Recognizes and responds to emergencies appropriately when required, performing CPR and/or use of AED as directed and trained.

Performs a wide variety of clerical tasks as directed by clinical staff including but not limited to patient registration, updating demographic information in patient medical records, completion of new patient paperwork and other grant paperwork, and other non-clinical duties as assigned.

Stocks all required supplies and forms, conducts routine equipment and maintenance checks on the mobile medical unit and at Healthcare for the Homeless clinical sites. Responsible for medical mobile unit care and upkeep including general cleaning and daily routine maintenance.

Exhibits tact and a helpful attitude towards medical mobile unit staff, on site personnel, clients and demonstrates good communication and listening skills with staff and clients.

Promotes teamwork and actively participates in meetings.

Able to work closely with staff at homeless shelters and other community based organizations and willing to engage with patients to promote interest and access to medical, dental, behavioral health, nutrition, case management, and insurance enrollment services

Willingness to be cross-trained as department needs arise

Willingness to be flexible with scheduling and coverage as department needs arise

**EDUCATION:**

**LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:**

NYS DL - valid New York State Driver's License - New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV)

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
