Call us at 541-###-####Position Overview: As a Lead Field Millwright, you will oversee the installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment in various industrial settings. Your expertise will guide a team in executing projects safely and efficiently, ensuring adherence to layout plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in the installation of machinery and equipment according to blueprints and layout plans.
- Supervise crew members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate the dismantling of machines using various tools and equipment.
- Oversee the movement of machinery using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
- Manage the assembly and installation of equipment, including shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, utilizing both hand and power tools.
- Guide the construction of machine foundations using hand tools and materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
- Ensure precise alignment of machines and equipment with the use of hoists, jacks, and measuring tools.
- Direct the fastening of machines to foundations using various methods (bolting, welding, riveting).
- Manage machine repair and lubrication tasks as necessary.
- Select and attach cables, ropes, and other rigging materials for safe hoisting.
- Set up and rig hoisting equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Mentor and train junior millwrights and crew members, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a millwright, with proven crew supervision experience REQUIRED.
- Strong background in the wood products, lumber, or mill industry is highly advantageous.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Skilled in operating engine lathes and other machinery to meet dimensional specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Up to 6 days/week, with shifts up to 12 hours/day (40+ hours regularly).
- Wage: Starting at $30.00+ DOE
