Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced semiconductor Product Quality Engineer, who will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) across the full semiconductor product lifecycle, with a strong focus on automotive product quality requirements including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), manufacturing quality assessments, reliability, and more. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of semiconductor design, manufacturing, packaging & test processes, quality assurance methodologies including automotive industry standards. This role will involve working closely with global cross functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards to serve our turnkey customers' products.

This position is based at our GlobalFoundries office at Malta, N.Y, USA

Responsibilities include:

Automotive Turnkey Product Lifecycle Management:

+ Develop business process to oversee quality aspects throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design and development to production and product end-of-life support.

+ Collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is integrated into every stage of the product lifecycle.

+ Develop strategy & processes to perform comprehensive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure control plan including test coverage, burn-in and do ppm improvements.

Quality Planning and Assurance:

+ Develop, implement, and improve quality business processes in alignment with APQP, PPAP requirements to ensure effective execution.

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards (IS9001, IATF 16949, VDA and AIAG) and customer-specific requirements.

+ Develop relevant templates to maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including control plans, inspection plans, and test reports.

+ Generate and monitor periodic quality performance KPI reports and present findings to senior management.

+ Eventually develop & deploy workflow and templates into SAP-QM platform

Team Responsibilities:

+ Guide the engineering teams to resolve reliability through structured problem-solving techniques, variation or non-conformance issues and enhance product quality and robustness.

+ Establish regular review process to reduce variation and non-conformances to improve stability across turnkey projects.

+ Coaching, mentoring & training of Customer Product Quality Engineers and supporting team members.

Continual Improvement:

+ Drive continual improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes with the stakeholders.

+ Utilize 7QC, statistical methods and Six Sigma tools to identify and eliminate sources of variability and defects.

+ Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for product quality issues and escapes.

Required qualifications:

+ Bachelor/Master/PhD degree in engineering or science

+ 8+ years of work experience in automotive semiconductor product engineering, product quality control/assurance, product design, or related field

+ In-depth knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and reliability engineering principles.

+ Familiarity with automotive industry standards such as IATF 16949, AIAG and VDA.

+ Strong problem-solving skills with knowledge of 7QC methods

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, cross locations with difference cultural backgrounds.

+ Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and quality management software.

+ Language Fluency English (Written & Verbal)

Additional preferred qualifications:

+ Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) is a plus

+ Auditor experience or certified IATF/VDA Auditor is a plus

+ Project Management experience and certification (eg. PMP, IPMA) is a plus

Expected Salary Range

$91,600.00 - $170,000.00
