StarTech.com is looking to hire a Warehouse Lead Hand. In this role, you will be primary supporting the Warehouse Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the Distribution Center (DC) function. Additionally, you will be helping manage workflow, receiving, put away, replenishment, production, picking, packing, shipping and returns (RMA). You will be responsible for assigning duties to Warehouse Associates, providing and facilitating a strong and appropriate HR environment, safety culture and communication process with hourly teams as well as coordinating with Logistics and Peer DCs.What you will be responsible for:
- Receiving: Ensuring all receiving is booked in correctly and within agreed timeframe, all goods are stored away correctly, and internal systems are updated correctly.
- Picking: Releasing orders, prioritizing and allocating to Pickers, creating and issuing list of replenishment products ensuring Replens are completed in a timely manner (when required) and monitoring picks to ensuring they are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Shipping: Preparing consignments, confirming all goods are packed to the required standard and labelled correctly, ensuring pallets are consolidated and wrapped to the customer requirements and clearly labelled, preparing packing lists and any other information relevant to the shipment, advising customers on readiness of shipment, booking delivery times where required and advising and booking carriers to collect.
- General responsibilities: Communicating any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or Senior Manager, ensuring the cleanliness of the warehouse and confirming Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Assisting and supporting with stock and cycle counts as required.
- Production: Ensuring all value-added activities are completed in a timely fashion; this includes emerging market support with labeling and auditing, completing build requirements to include kitting, relabeling, compliance updates and packaging, overseeing the RMA and furniture rework requirements and acting as a key point of contact for Marketing and Supply Chain special requests.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3 - 5 years Warehouse Experience working in a multi-disciplined environment.
- Highly Numerate and Literate, skilled in the use of Excel and Outlook.
- MHE and Forklift licenses relating to specific site equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Emphasis on organizational skills.
- Solid and proven problem solving, decision making and analytical thinking.
- Proficient with MS Suite including a working knowledge of Dynamics 365.
