Writing Support - Supervisor to join our growing team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and their facilities at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. BCS Allegiant has a 35-year history of helping government, research, and private sector clients implement their programs and missions and achieve success. Our vision is to become the government's preferred provider of business management, communications, and systems engineering solutions.The ideal candidate will oversee a team that will support a variety of writing and editing related tasks. Some of these tasks may include: overseeing organizing material and completing writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, may review/maintain records and files of work and revisions, may select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material, assist in laying out material for publication, and arrange for typing, duplication and distribution of material. This writer may draft speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases, or specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures.Some responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee a team of writing support staff
- Be the lead technical documentation writer, overseeing all document control process
- Work with various stakeholders to make sure requirements are met per set standards
- Participate in project meetings to identify upcoming documentation needs
- Able to identify and cater to the target audience to create relevant and impactful documentation.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relative field is required
- +5-10 years of relevant work experience
- Experience managing a team
- Strong writing and presentation development skills required
- Strong project management and time management skills
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in using various writing and editing tools
- Experience working with a federal government agency and/or knowledge of government processes (is preferred)
