Lead Kitchen AideCamp TekakwithaSeasonal, Non-benefit eligible
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary role of the Lead Kitchen Aide position at Camp Tekakwitha is to assist the head cook in meal preparation, serving (as needed), clean up post meal, and leading the cleaning around camp. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and desire to learn. The applicant must be willing to clean dishes, help prepare meals, oversee cleaning, and help lead other kitchen aides. It is imperative this individual understands the mission/vision of both the Diocese of Green Bay and Camp Tekakwitha. The ideal candidate is one who has a desire to serve the campers, staff, and community deeply rooted in the Catholic faith.As a member of the Camp Tekakwitha summer staff, this individual is expected to be a role model and set a standard of excellence for the campers, LQs, explorers, and counselors in training. While employed at Camp Tekakwitha, this individual must follow the most basic doctrine of the Catholic Church to align with the mission/vision of the Diocese of Green Bay. Ideal candidate will be an example as a Missionary Disciple with a servant heart.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church.
- Applicant must be 17 years of age.
- Preferred first aid/CPR certified.
- Understanding of the mission/vision of Camp Tekakwitha.
- Understanding of Catholic Church teachings and practices.
- Applicant must have a background in kitchen experience and have at least one year of previous staff experience at Camp Tekakwitha.
- Demonstrate eager ability to learn, grow, and receive both positive and critical feedback.
- Basic knowledge of conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Able to work well with people of all backgrounds and all ages.
- Strong relational ability to serve as a member of a team and work independently.
- Able to foster an environment of communal living.
