PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Lead Person creates an environment that promotes employee engagement, awareness, and problem solving within the Plant. The Lead Person oversees and coordinates activities to meet production schedules and ensure steady workflow within each department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

More specifically, the employee-owner will:
+ Perform all activities in a manner that protects and promotes the health, safety and welfare of employees, the community, and the environment.
+ Report all unsafe practices and conditions to the area Supervisor at the first opportunity.
+ Strive to achieve the highest possible product quality, from receipt of an order.
+ Lead employees in role modeling appropriate safety, quality, and productivity behaviors.
+ Prioritize and coordinate production of materials, parts, and components between employees within the department and other departments utilizing schedules, prints, and tooling.
+ Complete and properly process paperwork, including: workorders, and material sub and scrap reports.
+ Assure parts and components are accurate according to PPI and customer specifications.
+ Use and understand various paperwork including: schedules, prints, and technical standards.
+ Readily accept instruction from management and supervisor and execute effectively
+ Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
+ Provide and support the cross-training of employees on various jobs within the department
+ Continually participate in additional training related to the position.
+ Verify, when necessary, perform required preventative maintenance.

+ Ability to lead, coach, and support safety, quality, and productivity initiatives with the company.

+ Ability to complete orders on short notice to meet customer expectations.
+ Capable of working well with others and maintaining excellent interdepartmental relationships
+ Ability to read and interpret order schedules.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Know how to read a tape measure.
+ Demonstrate regular, consistent attendance.
EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE - COMPUTER SKILLS
+ High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
+ One to three months related experience and/or training; or
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING - CERTIFICATIONS - LICENSES
+ Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
+ Forklift license (Training provided by PPI)
