Job Description:

JobSummary:This position is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, andrepair of J.B. Hunttractors, trailers, and other equipment. Technicians mustbe able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processesand ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This positionis responsible for the management of inventory stock levels, performance ofaudits, submitting orders, and shipments of parts in order to maintain anadequate supply.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge ofpreventative maintenance, replacement of part/components, and complex repairsas it pertains to tractor-trailer maintenance including but not limited to theair brake systems, fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer,transmission, air brake systems and FHWA Inspections.
  • Accurately perform the most difficult repairs tocompany and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and exceedrequirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
  • Always maintain professional communication withJ.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
  • Understand and effectively follow all shopsafety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose tractor-trailerissues, develop innovative solutions, and work independently.
  • Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturetraining for OE repairs.
  • Schedule inbound equipment and maintainestimated running time so that repairs are assigned in order of priority;ensure equipment status is updated continually to maximize utilization.
  • Maintain the company's safety culture bypromoting a safe work environment in compliance with federal and stateregulations, conduct safety meetings, mock OSHA inspections, model safe workhabits, etc.
  • Actively manage parts sales by effectivelyforecasting inventory turnover and replenishment; monitor inventory levels andorder parts as required, ensuring adequate supply based on sales informationand re-ordering points.
  • Conduct Cycle Counts and periodic inventories asrequired.
  • Provide administrative support by copying andtyping correspondence, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Regularly gather management reports of partsusage, sales, and other timely data.
  • Retain/ship parts and maintain J.B. Huntinformation systems of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity ordered anddamage free, stock inbound parts to proper storage location and updateinformation systems.
  • Ship and receive shop tools requiring repair orreplacement.
  • Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environmentfree of trash and hazards.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

ShiftSchedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Qualifications:

MinimumQualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in tractor-trailermaintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of educationand experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 18 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal)effectively.
  • Ability to read documents and/or information inEnglish.
  • DOT Certified in FHWA Inspections & AirBrakes.
  • A/C Certification
  • Advanced welding skills (MIG and stick).
  • Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements,or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
  • Basic tools are required to successfully performthis role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations.Employees without their own tools may obtain them through toolbox purchaseprogram.

  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements of thejob including lifting above 50 pounds, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
