The Lead Manufacturing Technician role is responsible for learning Lonza Rockland's production processes in preparation to lead the manufacturing team. As a Lead Manufacturing Technician, you will: Learn and become proficient in the manufacturing processes. Plan and prepare production, schedule tasks, and assign duties to operators to meet the production schedule, assess production records and meet release timelines to deliver quality product to our customers. Develop expertise and technical leadership in ISO/cGMP compliance and an in-depth understanding of process flow. Lead the day-to-day activities including but not limited to safety, quality compliance, team meetings, continuous improvement, etc. Proactively suggest and lead innovation and continuous improvement activities. Drive the success of the team, through KPIs and adherence to written procedures (SOPs), housekeeping, 6S, quality standards, and LBMS/Lean. Key Responsibilities: Deliver to Plan : Lead and direct the safety, quality, and daily production operations. Oversee all tasks on the floor as they are carried out and provide assistance and troubleshooting to complex and non-routine process and equipment events. Safety: Ensure team's compliance with state/federal and Lonza safety, ergonomic, regulatory and environmental requirements. Ensure personnel receive appropriate safety and environmental training. Identify, report, and investigate safety incidents. Quality Compliance: Ensure full compliance with cGMP, ISO, and Quality system requirements. Responsible for overall inspection readiness and compliance with quality requirements. Initiate, assess and close low minor deviations. Lead and train staff: Oversee training of manufacturing staff, maintain individual training plans in conjunction with individual technician goals, and ensure team training is completed and documented. Ensure full compliance with ISO/cGMP, safety, and Quality system requirements. Must be present and engaging on the floor, reinforcing values and promoting the transfer of knowledge through coaching. Support recruiting, staffing, hiring, onboarding. Documentation : Ensure team is compliant with ISO/GMP and Quality system documentation requirements. Work with manufacturing team and technical resources to develop and maintain SOPs. Communication : Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills; technical writing experience a plus. Ability to maintain strong, productive relationships across all departments. Innovation and Operational Excellence : Support team success through independent thinking, troubleshooting, problem solving, decision making, incident investigation/root cause analysis, project leadership, flexibility and change readiness. Job Qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in the manufacturing field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role. Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. Certification in Lean is a plus.
