JOB SUMMARY Works under minimum supervision to provide skills required to operate central or departmental receiving and/or store unit in a warehouse environment.

This is a day shift position Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience 5 years of experience working on computers using ERP/WMS platforms (i.e., PeopleSoft and SC Logistics). and Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel products. and Must be able to lift/move 75 lbs.

  • Licenses and Certifications (DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE State of Texas motor vehicle operator's license Upon Hire and A Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain license within a specified time may be required if operating certain vehicles Upon Hire

Preferred

  • Experience Experience in use of Forklift, Electric Pallet Jacks and Manual Pallet Jacks

JOB DUTIES

    • Responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities of a group of 5 or more employees.
    • Makes daily employee assignments, helps to maintain workflow, and coordinates all activities for assigned area.
    • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for all receiving/shipping processes.
    • Perform maintenance duties and provided training for all power equipment.
    • Partner with Supervisor to lead daily communication meeting.
    • Coordinates and helps to unload FedEx, UPS, and Common Carrier trailers, inspects merchandise for damage, gathers pack lists and pertinent information to accurately determine recipient; generates receiving documents and receipts.
    • Checks incoming shipments against bills of lading and purchase orders and prepares accurate receiving reports, noting shortages, overages, and damaged items.
    • Coordinates the receipt and delivery of General Stores shipments.
    • Restocks General Stores with product in correct bin locations and picks customer orders with correct product and correct quantity.
    • Utilizes computer printout sheet and/or handheld device to determine, document and replenished supply quantities. Completes cycle counting and inventory adjustments.
    • Leads implementation of continuous improvement projects for assigned area.
    • Documents all process errors found in assigned work area and communicates an improvement to eliminate future errors to team members.
    • Loads, unloads and delivers merchandise by variety of means including forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual loading techniques.
    • Provides assistance to department personnel in preparing and arranging for outgoing shipments.
    • Drives university vehicles to various campus and off-campus locations to offload and deliver merchandise.
    • Ensures that storage areas and stock rooms are maintained in clean and tidy condition.
    • Restocks General Stores with product in correct bin locations and picks customer orders with correct product and correct quantity.
    • May train or orient new employees assigned to unit.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
