What You'll Do:

As a Lead Billing Associate, you'll take on key responsibilities to ensure our billing processes are efficient, accurate, and fully compliant. You will also serve as a leader and mentor to the billing team, fostering a positive work environment.

  • Claims Processing: Ensure accurate and compliant claim submissions, verifying patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility. Resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth claim resolutions.
  • Payment Posting: Post and reconcile payments from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers. Address any issues, including denied or rejected payments.
  • Rejection & Denial Management: Analyze rejections and denials, develop corrective strategies, and collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve claim issues.
  • Reporting: Generate comprehensive billing reports, including KPIs, revenue analysis, and claim status summaries, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Act as the go-to person for the billing team, helping troubleshoot issues and collaborating with various internal teams, insurance providers, and external partners.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, provide training and guidance to staff, and help streamline billing operations.
  • What We're Looking For:

    • Experience: 2+ years of experience in outpatient medical billing, with a strong understanding of revenue cycle management.
    • Leadership: Prior experience in a leadership or team lead role within a billing department is a plus.
    • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in MEDENT software and Microsoft Office.
    • Team Player: A positive attitude and collaborative spirit with the ability to guide, mentor, and support a team.
    • Preferred: Experience with managed care, capitation insurance products, and customer service.
  • Education

    • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Preferred: Associate's degree or medical billing certificate.
  • Compensation & Benefits

    • Pay range: $24 - $30 per hour, based on experience, education, and qualifications.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Up to six hours of continuous sitting, with periods of standing and walking.
    • Must be able to perform repetitive keyboarding and lift up to 15 pounds.
