SCICAP Early Childhood Program is seeking a professional candidate for a Lead Nutrition Staff for our Leon Early Head Start location. The Lead Nutrition Staff position will be in charge of all nutrition duties in the center including planning, preparing and cleaning up after all meals and snacks. Duties will also include following approved menus, ensuring all necessary supplies are available for meals, maintaining a sanitary work environment, and other duties as needed.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollow approved menus, which meet daily nutritional requirementPurchase food within budget based on menusKeep current menus posted and sent home to the parentsKeep count of meals served at point of serviceWork closely with nutrition specialist, classrooms staff, children and parentsPrepare all meals and snacks according to approved menus and CACFP GuidelinesInvolve children in nutrition programPreparing new and different recipes of routine foodsServe family-style mealsIntroduce new foods as per menuSetting tables and cleaning up after mealsPlan and present classroom cooking/nutrition two (2) times monthly or as per Director.Maintain a sanitary work environment and kitchenFollow good personal hygiene practicesHair restraints, requiredWash hands thoroughly and oftenWear clean clothing and apronsCover cuts and sores.
