Lead on Duty - Cashier/Merchandiser

Tantallon Pharmasave, part of the MacQuarries Pharmasave Group, is currently recruiting for a part-time Lead on Duty (LOD). The successful candidate will assist in cashier responsibilities and merchandising.

This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who wants to learn a lot, work in a fantastic team environment, and can work a variety of shifts (majority being days, evenings, and weekends).

You must have a great attitude and professional behavior and want to positively contribute to our team.

The LOD will be the appointed leader who will be working on the floor with the entire team to WOW our customers. They will coach, guide, and be the leaders in exceeding customer service. The LOD will ensure the merchandising of the store is done, and make sure it is always neat, clean, and well-organized. The LOD will assist on cash if necessary but will mainly be on the floor, helping the team and taking care of any customer or staff concerns.

Some of the qualifications we are looking for:

Superior Customer service experience – our customers are very important so let's keep them happy.

Excellent communication skills – you will have to talk a lot to many different people.

A people person who always wants to exceed expectations – we are all about people and want everyone to be wowed!

Very Organized – there will be lots going on so you need to know where everything is.

Strong attention to detail – working with numbers and cash is super important.

Not afraid to ask questions – lots to learn so you need to be good with questions.

Computer skills especially Microsoft applications – most everything we do involves computers.

Takes initiative – if you see something that needs to be done or fixed, you need to do it.

Team player – we spend the majority of our time at work; it is much better if we are good to each other.

Merchandising – it would be an advantage to be able to work the cash and merchandise.

The successful candidates will work mostly at the front cash but will assist in merchandising duties as well. We are open 7 days a week, evenings, weekends, and holidays so the shifts will vary. There will also be some lifting involved (up to 40lbs). Please note, there are also stairs in this location.
