Position Title Lead Painter Overview

Job Responsibilities
90% of time
? Surveys buildings to determine painting needs and develops schedules for completion.
? Applies paints, sealers, and solvents to interior and exterior building surfaces such as plaster, drywall, concrete and wood.
? Performs special refinishing tasks including wood surface preparation, staining and sealing.
? Plans summer painting projects in resident halls and classrooms. Interviews, trains & supervises summer student workers, purchases materials and supplies.
? Performs building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape and texturing tasks.
? Tracks material used on specific projects and documents for future reference.
? Maintains inventory of materials, supplies and equipment.
? Manages work performed by outside contractors for adherence to plans & specifications as well as all federal, state and local codes.
? Writes specifications for repairs and new construction.
? Research methods and materials required to complete assigned tasks.
? Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
? Planning and project management of assigned projects.
? Train and direct the work of other Painters and skilled trades.

? Assist other skill trades in daily activities and renovation projects.
